Dave will personally guide you through the critical elements you must get right when applying for a job, including the need to follow instructions, how to complete every section of your application form, how to best check it for spelling and grammar, consider the best answers to competency questions, consider why you want the job, the needs of the job from the employer’s perspective and much more. CV & Cover Letter Training Masterclass
Dave will cover the different styles of CV – standard CV, skills-based CV, industry-specific CV (law, creative, etc – an engineering CV, for example, looks different to a bio-medical science one, etc), ensuring you get your template right, keeping it to two pages, checking it for spelling and grammar, ensuring you don’t give the wrong impression to your potential new employer. Dave will also cover the structure of your cover letter, the content, format, and how to keep it to one page. If you work with Dave you will get vital information to help you to craft your CV and cover letter so that it allows you to stand out from the crowd. This will really help you if you want to have a CV and cover letter that you are proud to share, and employers will love!
This part of the day will also include Dave personally checking your existing CV and/or cover letter and giving you feedback and powerful suggested amendments to it there and then or when you are ready after the session, Dave will provide a full one-time check of your CV and/or cover letter you have produced as a result of our training.
Interview Training Masterclass
Dave will cover the interview techniques that you need to demonstrate to succeed at your interview. He will cover how to anticipate likely competency related questions prior to an interview to help you ensure that potential answers are what employers are looking for.
General standards of professionalism such as what to wear, planning journeys, being on time, resting the night before, diet (don’t drink loads of coffee, etc), and critical techniques such as how to buy yourself time when stumped by a particular question.
Dave will teach you how you should deliver answers to competency related questions at interviews in a way that covers what employers want to hear. Dave will also ensure you are prepared to anticipate and deal with other style of questions. To ensure this masterclass provides you with the highest quality training, Dave will cover a pre-interview preparation “checklist” so you can be confident you will be fully prepared to pass your interview!
Finally, your day will conclude with a mock interview based on the competencies required for the role you are applying for followed by Dave’s constructive, performance-enhancing feedback.
