You are working on a time-sensitive project and have been put under pressure to get a certain report completed. You have just finished and are about to submit this to your manager when you realise a small mistake you have made. What do you do?
Choose the best response.
- Approach your manager with the report and tell him about the mistake you have made. Ask for extra support to rectify the mistake and re-submit the report.
- Submit the report and say nothing about the mistake as this Is only small and should not cause any issues moving forward.
- Approach your manager and tell him about the mistake. Tell him you are sorry, but if you were not under so much pressure the mistake would not have been made.
- Tell your manager about the mistake you have made. Tell him you will take the necessary steps to rectify the issue, and also take steps to ensure the mistake is not repeated moving forward.
Answer: D
Explanation: Explanation: D is the best answer to the scenario. This shows a willingness to rectify the issue and also learn from this. This demonstrates integrity, responsibility and commitment to excellence. A is a possible solution, but you are relying on the support of others to help rectify your issue, D is a better option. B, lacks integrity and is unethical. How small the mistake, you cannot guarantee this will not cause issues for the organisation. C does nothing to resolve the issue, complaining about the pressure you are put under will not look good and demonstrates a lack of accountability.
WORK SIMULATION TESTS
The work simulation tests are designed to put in the perspective of an employee facing a typical scenario you may encounter in your day-to-day duties. You will be provided with several pieces of information (this could be in the form of an email, a complaint, or even technical data etc) and you will then have to answer a series of questions based on the information provided.

- Learn and understand the 16 principles that you are being assessed against to ensure that you can demonstrate your ability to execute them in your answers.
MECHANICAL COMPREHENSION
Mechanical comprehension tests are used to assess an individual’s understanding of basic mechanical concepts and principles. It evaluates their ability to grasp and apply mechanical concepts to solve problems related to machinery, tools, and mechanical systems.

- You will be assessed on your speed and accuracy. Therefore, you are advised against random ‘guessing’. In order to prevent estimations, practice more and more.
