a) Animals and humans need to eat in order to get nutrients like vitamins and minerals, protein, and fibre into their bodies. Their bodies need these nutrients to keep their organs working, repair their bodies, and move. Unlike plants, their bodies cannot produce food themselves, so they need to find food in the world around them.

b) It is important to have a balanced diet to make sure the body gets enough of all the types of nutrients it needs to be healthy, and not too much of potentially unhealthy things like fats and sugars.

c) You should not have too much of anything in your diet, but especially not things like fat, sugar, salt, or carbohydrates.

d) You should eat foods high in vitamins and minerals the most, as these are the most beneficial nutrients for your body. These are found mostly in vegetables, as well as fruit.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to let you know that the people of Verdant Valley are not happy with your decision to build a factory here. Cutting down trees will destroy the habitats of far too many animals, including insects, mammals and birds. This would mean that huge numbers of animals would die, because they would not be able to find food or shelter.

Humans have a great effect on the environment around us, so it is our duty to make sure that it is protected and animals can survive. If one animal dies out, this can cause many others in its food chain to also die out, and we can’t let this happen. Finally, a factory would releases harmful fumes into the atmosphere, which will harm everything from plants to humans. Thank you for reading this letter, and please reconsider your plans.
